a new beginning
in the distant past, i was a commercial photographer until i felt
my creative edge disappear.
in the 1980s i sold all my medium-format gear, darkroom equipment,
studio lighting and all but one of my cameras. i became an eight-to-fiver
and in my spare time tried to find ways to ignite my creative spark.
among other endeavors i took up scuba diving, flying, kayaking and
mountain biking – but there was always something missing.
i went back to my photo library and began to rediscover what brought
me joy. i came to realize this is who i am. my photographs express
what i see, how i feel.
i now pursue photography for pleasure, with an occasional paid
job on the side. this gives me the opportunity to photograph for
my own enjoyment. more important, it allows me time to experience
the diverse and more creative aspects of photography. recently i
sold my last remaining 35mm film camera and bought a dslr. as my
digital photography evolves, i am constantly making new discoveries.
this web site represents a new start for me. |
